| A "must hear"!: Rating: 5 out of 5 |
I'm not too much into religious music, but this little modest-looking cd is a real gem. OK it could have been a little bit more evenly produced, but yet these renditions have real charm added to quality singing and astonishing harmonies. What most appeal to me is the interpretations - you find no syrup here, or shouting a la Il Divo, but clear love and respect for music. You get a feeling that these three men are not in studio or on stage to bring out themselves, but more to bring out the music. My only real critique is that in some songs the choral parts come so timidly that they might have been left out altogether as they are not giving any more value to the music as such. This cd is a real treat. I for one found several songs that were totally new to me, but which I fell in love with immediately, like "Irish Blessing", "Ag Criost an Siol", "Plegaria", "Mit Würd und Hoheit" and "Domine Fili Unigenite". The same happened to many people that I know and this little CD became a surprise hit here when it was first published, and purely with its own merits as it was only little advertised.
This is a cd you can listen to for years. And years. If you don't have it yet but love classical or sacred music - no matter what your faith - just get it. |

| This is a lovely, peaceful CD bought for a friend, and I would recommend it to anyone. Yes, it is religious but it is so calming and an extremely good recording. |
