Good track although not quite as strong as the other 3 singles from the new album: Rating: 5 out of 5
Barcode: 0602517807983

The Perfect Boy is the last of the 4 singles released a month apart in preparation for the new Cure album. It's a pleasant track and very 'traditional Cure' in sound, probably the most so out of the 4 singles. It doesn't quite have the instant appeal and catchiness the others did but still contains that light-heartedness that certainly seems to be a theme of the new tracks. After a few listens though it definitely grows on you a lot more and once again proves the Cure are still on top form.

B-side Without You is really nice, with a vague eastern sound to it with bits of sitar here and there in it. In fact, from first impressions, the b-side actually came across as the stronger of the two tracks. It's classic Cure packed to the brim with all the myriad elements that made us fall in love with the band.

2. Without You
Really a perfect boy!: Rating: 4 out of 5
Well, finally I was able to hear this single and I can say that the A-side, The Perfect Boy, is brilliant, as always. The Cure did amazing job with the arragements and the lyrics are lovely. Robert Smith is the only person in the whole world who can express all kinds of emotions using simple (not so simple really)words... Astonishing!

So why did I give this release 4 stars out of five? Maybe it's a blasphemy, but I prefer SWID as single, its b-side, Down Under, is brilliant, innovative and breathtaking song while Without You is rather dissapointing, average track. The music is fine (though there's nothing special about it), but it's the vocal melody that ruined this song for me - I LOVE Robert Smith's voice, it's unique and beautiful and all that but this time something went wrong...very wrong (the wails at the beginning of each verse sound truly awful) =(

So, and believe me - I'm VERY SORRY to say it - for me the Perfect Boy is the weakest single of the whole bunch, still good but not great....
Bring on the album!!: Rating: 5 out of 5
Great song from a great band. I honestly thought that Smithy had lost it a little in the singles department but these new releases have proved me wrong and im really looking forward to the new release. Their last album could have been great but was spoilt by Ross Robinsons production. Porl Thompsons return and guitar work has made a big difference (and to the artwork!)The B side 'Without You' is classic Cure - brilliant! and those thinking they are past it should go and perhaps listen to overblown and bloated U2. Bono please retire!!
