I have recently set up my new Mac laptop (having given up on Windows and its numerous problems) with both Leopard OS and Windows XP using Parallels. So I was keen given wide use of Norton over the years in protecting my Windows PCs to protect against such viruses and also cover the Mac side being infected (plus being the target of many new virus attacks I suspect as Apples computers popularity grows).
This seemed the ideal product - but at the last minute noticed it only works with Vista (!) which ironically was the actual reason why I had given up on Windows PCs, given the dreadful way that system had been rolled out and the numerous problems seen.
Sadly now that XP is a very stable and robust system to use, Microsoft are withdrawing its installation on new PCs from mid 2008, though one hopes that separate purchase and support of XP will continue until they have sorted out Vista or its successors.
As a result I have ended up purchasing Intego Internet Spam security which although more expensive also smartly caters for Windows 2000, XP and Vista! | |
